Answer:

The Axum was an important state in northeastern Africa. It included what is now Eritrea, parts of what is now Ethiopia - where its capital Axum was located -, Sudan and Yemen.

Axum's decline began in the 7th century, first due to the commercial instability caused by the disputes between Byzantines and the Persians of the Sassanid Empire and, after 632, by the expansion of the Muslim Arab domains. Although relations with Muslims were initially friendly, from the 7th century onwards the rise of the Umayyad dynasty caused its final decline. The Arabs dominated the Red Sea trade, conquering Adulis and cutting the trade routes of the Axum Empire. Agricultural production fell, probably due to environmental problems and overexploitation of the area surrounding the city, which at the end of the 8th century was reduced to a village.

soldier1979 [14.2K]
Why? Because he completely destroyed the old political division of Western and Central Europe, proving, oddly enough for a military dictator, that the power of repressive or oppressive states can be brought to nothing. In the process he also re-organized borders around, in part along ethnic lines. By doing so, he acknowledged the rights of people to, if not rule themselves, be considered a Nation as such.

Despite being ultimately defeated, his actions in Europe ultimately (among other things of course) led to the contemporary Europe we know today.

How did economic sanctions affect apartheid in Africa?
Delvig [45]
When the Afrikaner-backed National Party Came to power in South Africa in 1948, it implemented its campaign promises in the form of high apartheid. This contrasted with the segregationist policies of the pre-war government. While much of that legislation was designed to restructure the organization of economic opportunity in South Africa, apartheid legislation lacked the trademark of systematic exploitation of native Africans (Butler 19). The English speaking whites who had held power before the war were sidelined as the white constituency was consolidated under the National Party, a Afrikaner dominated political group. This allowed the National Party to enact such legislation as the Population Registration Act, which enforced classification into four racial categories: white, Co loured, Asiatic, or native. The next high apartheid landmark was the Group Areas Act of 1950. This act enforced the separate areas of residence by race across the country. It would be this act that eventually led to Promotion of Bantu Self-Government Act of 1959 that transferred Africans’ political rights to these quasi-states, which allowed the South African government to treat natives as foreigners and allow them no political representation in the South African government.
