The correct answer is all men of conscience or prudence ply to windward, to maintain their wars be defensive. They would always pretend that the Natives attacked first and that they were savages who pillage their lands, so they would have an excuse to attack while pretending that they're on the defensive.

Puritans and Indians fought one more time after the Pequot War. The Pequot war actually took forty years. During that time, it was Wampanoag’s that occupied the south shore of Massachusetts Bay.

They traded some of their land to people that lived outside Massachusetts Bay colony. Massasoit who was their leader was dead and his son Wamsutta has also been killed by the Englishmen. Wamsutta’s brother Metacom later became chief.

The English found an excuse which was a murder and they ascribed it to Metacom. A war of conquest was launched by the English against the Wampanoag’s in order to steal their land. The English were actually the attackers but they always claimed they are firstly attacked.

Williams described the English actions by saying all men of conscience or prudence ply to windward, to maintain their wars to be defensive.

Roger Williams, born on December 21, 1603, was known to be an advocator for the separation of the state and church. He advocated for fair dealings with Native America and he co-founded Rhode Island and providence plantations.

In 1636, Roger Williams established the providence plantation after he was expelled by puritan leaders for spreading what they termed “new and dangerous ideas”

How was President Johnson able to successfully produce the "flood of reform legislation" before 1966?
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:Lyndon B. Johnson

How did nixon's new federalism and detente shape his presidency?
Annette [7]
1) New Federalism- This domestic policy focused on the federal government giving more power to the states in terms of how they spend funds on fixing social issues. The goal of this plan for Nixon was to role back the scope and size of the federal government. This shaped his presidency significantly, as advocates of states rights fully supported his policy.

2) Detente- This refers to Nixon's relations with the Soviet Union during the Cold War. This term marks a significant improvement in the relationship between the United States and Soviet Union. This couple year span affected his presidency in a positive manner, as people did not fear nuclear warfare as much as they did during the Kennedy administration.
