Bilbo Baggins, the protagonist of The Hobbit, is one of a race of creatures about half the size of humans, beardless and with hairy feet. He lives in an unspecified time that is at once ancient and also very like the Victorian age, with its cozy domestic routines. Like most hobbits, Bilbo is fond of the comforts of home and hearth: He loves good, simple food in abundance, and he loves his pipe and well-furnished hobbit-hole. The book opens, in fact, with Bilbo's smoking a pipe one morning just outside his home; shortly afterward, he finds himself serving high tea — including coffee, cakes, scones, jam, tart, and pies — to thirteen dwarves. Memories of this kind of plain English food follow Bilbo throughout his hardships on his journey, when he is often hungry, and represent what home means to him. Bilbo is also fastidious: He does not like the mess the dwarves create in his home and, although he has been invited by Gandalf to join a dramatic adventure, in Chapter 2 he almost returns home because he has forgotten his handkerchiefs and his pipe.

Bilbo is called upon to do more than he imagines himself capable of. He does not like to travel, preferring the safety of his hobbit-hole, but he has inherited a streak of adventurousness from his mother's side, the Tooks. His adventurous Took side and his comfort-loving Baggins side are in conflict throughout much of the story. For the first half of the book, he is often hapless and rather cowardly. He begins by falling into a fit when he feels prevailed upon to join Gandalf and the dwarves, and later he must be carried by Dori when they are escaping the Goblins. In the face of difficulties, he is often afraid and constantly daydreams of bacon and eggs and wishes himself back home. In Chapter 2, he is caught trying to pickpocket the trolls.

Everybody can express an opinion or have published something about a specific subject, but for you to use it as an important argument it has to be made by someone or something, in the case of an organization, that is an authority on the topic and has studied the subject properly.

The starting point for research is to identify the research question. You have to have a very clear idea of what is it that you are looking for so that you can have an idea on how to find it, and which are the boundaries you don't need to cross because it is not essential and it would be a lost of time.

Boolean logic is a method for searching the Internet. When an "and" operator is between two words or other values it means one is searching for documents containing both of the words or values. When an "or"operator is used, it means one is searching for documents containing either of the words.

If you're writing a personal narrative essay, you might want to follow these tips:

- Stick with the main plot of your story

- Add examples and descriptions if possible

- Don't leave out your emotions

- Make it useful; give tips in conclusion

Or, you may want to start off in a "sophisticated" way. And by that I mean, starting off with such words like: Even though, Just because, and Forth and for most. But, I'll give you an example of a simple way to start of your introductory paragraph.

Explanation: It was mid-summer, July 23, 2010, and I was more than ready to enjoy my summer with my friends. Julie, my friend since we were in diapers, was having a summer bash in her backyard that day. I was ecstatic! My first summer party as a big kid! I had to get ready within an hour, fix my hair, get my bathing suit, and make sure I had sunscreen. I'm scrambling trying to get things done before we leave, clothes on the floor scattered like wild rats. I'm running faster and faster as every moment passes, then, I fall, hard enough to cause the tectonic plates to shift. My mom rushes in to see if I'm okay, and what the raucous was about. She looked at my face, and her eyes widened as if she saw a ghost. I asked her what was wrong, and she looked at me surprised. I touched my face as she still had the horrified look on hers. I remove my hand from my mouth to later see blood on my palm. I lick around my mouth to only feel a gap where my canine tooth used to be three minutes ago. My mom says, "Oh honey, you lost your first baby teeth." I wasn't so thrilled as she was, I had a summer bash to go to in twenty minutes! And I didn't want my friends to see my missing tooth and laugh at me. So, I hid in my room and told my mom I didn't want to go anymore. She told me it was nonsense and said they'd think I'm cool. I didn't believe her for a moment, but, sooner or later, I did, and decided to go regardless of my missing tooth.

That's a short little narrative you can go by and tweak if you want to use it. Or to make it more relatable to your life story, add some things.
