The answer here would be C. He was a slave that sued for his freedom having been living with an owner that had taken him to free states. It was ruled that because he was the descendent of imported slave, he lost his case with the Supreme Court 7-2 because he was enslaved and enslaved persons are not citizens and therefore can not file a suit.

The main point of the 13th Amendment was to abolish slavery. With the 14 and 15th amendments it also established equal rights for Black Americans and their right to vote as well.
