They give the readers a sense of compassion. The readers know that they cannot ever really feel the same way that those soldiers did but the stories make them want to. These documents give proof to how real the war really was and by giving personal accounts of the war, the readers get to see a bit of what was happening on the inside. The readers get to see the true reactions to the decisions of the government.<span />

But I will give an explanation to what prejudice is so you can answer your question yourself.

<em>Prejudice is somewhat similar to discrimination, where you judge people based on what group they belong to (etc. race, gender, sexuality) without reason. Something similar to racism. People can be prejudiced because they belong to any group.</em>
