Answer:

Explanation:

Volunteering is great and is really good for giving back to world. I have volunteered at a nursing home because of my parents. I was so nervous, like what would people say to me or what would i even do. I was just as clueless as the people i was going to help. I never looked at volunteering being a fun thing until i went. You see, i met this old man he was pretty funny well, at least he thought he was. He loved to play cards and crack jokes on the old ladies he so called didn't like but, lemme me tell you a secret, he did.

I ended up meeting this nice old women who was diagnosed with cancer . They nurses told me so i tried to be nicer than usual. She was really great at sewing and was always smiling at that grumpy old man which is name is Jerry and her name is Marie. I told Jerry he had a secret admirer and so did marie. Sadly, A few days later when i went back to the nursing home she had passed away. The nurses gave me the note she left for me and Jerry i went outside where i knew he would be. Me and him read the letter and cried. Big guy cried more than me lol. But if i learned one thing about volunteering is that it can be great for learning new things and great for new old pals.

THE END!

How do the characters contribute to the theme of Fourteen by Alice Gerstenberg?
kifflom [539]

Answer:

The theme about the unexpected good endings to problems is supported mainly through the character of Mrs. Pringle. The problem of who and how many guests arises from what she wants and is presented through her words and actions. At the end of the play, she announces the unexpected ending by stating how happy she is to have the Prince of Wales instead of Oliver Farnsworth, whom she had been counting on.

All three characters support the theme of people going overboard to reach high social standing. Mrs. Pringle supports this in her reasons for having the party in the first place and the fuss she makes over the details. The words and actions of Elaine and Dunham support the theme in that they provide the ideas that feed Mrs. Pringle’s frustration. They keep her updated on the changing number of guests and the situation regarding the amount of food.

Option A seems to be correct because she is taking notes to help her with the instructions as the teacher talks

Option B doesn't seem correct because Josephine is not asking questions to her teacher.

Option C also doesn't seem correct because she wasn't distracted in the first place.

Option D also doesn't seem correct because nowhere does it say that she is using prior knowledge to help herself out.

Which is the best example of cultural conflict in this excerpt? A. Elenita's mother versus life in the barrio

Explanation:

Thee following excerpt are from "Gravity" by Judith Ortiz Cofer, a Puerto Rican American author that best known for her works of creative nonfiction:

For the greater part of my childhood I had practically lived with my parents at Puerto Habana. My father opened and closed the restaurant: twelve-hour days. And my mother was always on stand-by, as cook, waitress, hostess, whatever Reyes needed; and almost every day, she was needed. My father thought of the restaurant as the heart of his barrio life. On the other hand, Mami talked constantly about the family on the Island. It was point-counterpoint every day, not quite an argument, just an ongoing discussion about where "home" was for each of them.

Cultural conflict is the conflict type occurred when there is the clash between the differences of cultural values and beliefs. It used to explain violence and crime. The example of cultural conflict is the debate over abortion and also the ethnic cleansing.

The best example of cultural conflict in this excerpt is A. Elenita's mother versus life in the barrio
