Episodic memory is one that allows us to remember situations experienced in our life, such as time, place, people, emotions, etc.

Endel Tuving was the forerunner in developing the concept of episodic memory, and according to him, episodic memory allows us a "mental journey through time".

Therefore, episodic memory allows us to generate learning based on past experiences, in addition to allowing us to recall with greater vividness an event with a lot of emotional significance.
