What happened during the Great Schism ?
vivado [14]

Answer:

a lot happened

Explanation:

The Great Schism split the main faction of Christianity into two divisions, Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. On July 16, 1054, Patriarch of Constantinople Michael Cerularius was excommunicated from the Christian church based in Rome, Italy. The Great Schism permanently divided the eastern Byzantine Christian Church and the western Roman Catholic Church. The popes in Rome claimed papal supremacy, while the leaders in the East rejected the claim. This led to western popes and eastern patriarchs excommunicating each other. During that time, three men simultaneously claimed to be the true pope. Driven by politics rather than any theological disagreement, the schism was ended by the Council of Constance (1414–1418). For a time these rival claims to the papal throne damaged the reputation of the office.

natta225 [31]

The competition between Catholic Spain and other European countries, such as England, the Netherlands, and even France was partly driven by Religious competition.

What is the Religious competition?

The state of religious competition is an expression of relations between religious groups and how they, as parts of the religious society.

For the process of European expansion and the colonial endeavors from the late 15th century to the 19th, the historians of the Atlantic world have more often than not identified the imperial states as the most powerful players: the Portuguese, Spanish, French, Dutch, and English (later British).

From these empires’ perspectives, colonization was also about converting the “heathen” to, first, Catholicism, and then, with the Reformation and the rise of different varieties of Protestantism, to other denominations as well.

Colonization in the early modern period was as much about religious missions, about “the harvest of souls,” as it was about expanding territorial boundaries and economic resource

Because of an aging population, Russia and Japan are expected to have population growth in the near future.
Aleks [24]

Answer: Reversed Population Growth

Explanation:

...Russia and Japan are expected to have REVERSED population growth...

Both Russia and Japan have seen a higher proportion of their aging population as opposed to a young population.

This has led to estimates that there will be reversed population growth in these countries which means that the population will fall. In Japan this is particularly serious with 33% of the population above 60 years of age.

Should this trend continue, when those older people eventually pass on they will not be adequately replaced by the younger generation leading to a reduction in population.
