There were several characteristics of the renaissance. Firstly due to the influence of the Italian Scholar Petrarch the interest in the classical thoughts of the Greeks and the Romans. Barbarism and corruption that had griped the society needed to be rejected. Secondly this renaissance was responsible for the acceptance of humanism. This created a great change in the society. It was the begining of the commercial revolution and the end of feudalism. Regional self sufficiency began and productivity increased. This renaissance also started the beginning of the renaissance state.
