With the initial success of military strategies, MacArthur proposed to push into North Korea. But the plan backfired when forces from China flung into North Korea and drove the American troops to the South. MacArthur's reaction to this was to bomb China but Truman has opposing views and MacArthur was relieved from the responsibilities.
