 Ellipsis is a <em>literay device and a grammatical term</em>. It's used to ommit some parts of a sentence or events in a narrative. Ellipsis dots indicate that parts of a word or sentence have been ommited, sometimes to save time, or as a <em>stylistic element.</em> The readers have a chace to fill the gaps. Another point is that it allows authors to advance the story.
