Yes. Jewish supporters in Germany and German occupied France hid Jews from the Gestapo, which was the German "secret" police. Once america and it's allies found out what the Germans were doing in the Concentration Camps, they pushed harder to stop it. So the answer is yes, some people did, otherwise the genocide would have continued.

How did the Congressional response to the Soviet-Afghan War change Americans’ perspectives about the global role of the United S
olga_2 [115]
I believe that the correct answer should be B), because he worsened the relations with the Soviet Union, relations that were much better during the time of previous president, Richard Nixon. It wasn't that much about the Afghan people, since he thought that i posed a""a grave threat to the free movement of Middle East oil". Also, he lost his 1980 election to Ronald Reagan, who promised-and delivered-an even more vigorous anticommunist foreign policy, which is why I strongly believe that the correct answer is B).

What problems could arise if the United States initiated the Marshall Plan in European countries without said countries’ coopera
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

There would be political unrest and an increase in the spread of communism.

Explanation:

The problems that could arise if the United States initiated the Marshall Plan in European countries without said countries’ cooperation is that "There would be political unrest and an increase in the spread of communism."

This is because, many of these countries would not accept the United States aids, and thereby further strain the level of trust among them. In turn, the Soviet Union would likely take advantage of the situation and ally with some of these European countries, thereby spreading communism.

What did the post-world war 2 independence movements in india and africa have in common?
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

India suffered from conflicts between Hindus (majority) and Muslims (minority) and struggled against British rule. Both Indian and African independent movements shared a greater desire for self-rule of their own people. Two world wars destroyed the idea of the "civilizing mission" of the European colonies. And during the aftermath of WWII, the old colonial order seemed to have lost its force, its historical relevance. India's independence in 1947 inspired nationalist campaigns and provided a model for decolonization and independence all over the world.

Nikitich [7]

During the US occupation of Japan after World War 2, Japan's military was dismantled by the US military. The correct option is d.

What is World War 2?

World war 2 was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. The vast majority of the world's countries, including all of the great powers, fought as part of two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.

Many participants threw their economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities behind this total war, blurring the distinction between civilian and military resources. Aircraft played a major role, enabling the strategic bombing of population centres and the delivery of the only two nuclear weapons ever used in war. World War II was by far the deadliest conflict in history, resulting in an estimated 70 to 85 million fatalities, mostly among civilians. Tens of millions died due to genocides, starvation, massacres, and disease.

In the wake of the Axis defeat, Germany and Japan were occupied, and war crimes tribunals were conducted against German and Japanese leaders.
