On a particular day, the wind Added 4 miles per hour to Alfonso’s rate when he was cycling with the wing and subtracted 4 miles

per hour from his rate on his return trip. Alfonso found that in the same amount of time he could cycle 54 miles with the wind, he could go only 30 miles against the wind. What is his normal bicycling speed with no wind

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Alright, lets get started.

We first assume that Alfonso's bicycling speed with no wind is = x miles per hour

With the wind, his speed will be = (x+4) miles per hour

Against the wind, his speed will be = (x-4) miles per hour

For traveling 54 miles with the wind, the time will be = \frac{54}{(x+4)}

For traveling 30 miles against the wind, the time will be = \frac{30}{(x-4)}

Alfonso found that both the timings are same, so

\frac{54}{(x+4)}=\frac{30}{(x-4)}

Cross multiplying

54*(x-4) = 30 * (x+4)

54x - 216 = 30x + 120

Solving for x

54x - 30 x = 120 + 216

24x = 336

Dividing 24 in both sides

x = 14

So, Alfonso's normal bicycling speed with no wind is 14 miles per hours. : Answer

Hope it will help :)

Answer:

  • 13 years
  • $62,000

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The 36000 -23000 = 13000 difference in salary is being made up at the rate of 3000 -2000 = 1000 per year. It will take 13000/1000 = 13 years for the salaries to be the same.

__

b) After 13 years, the salary will be ...

  23000 +13(3000) = 23000 +39000 = 62,000 . . . dollars

  36000 +13(2000) = 36000 +26000 = 62,000 . . . dollars

Jai Narayan sells two radio sets for 2288 each.
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

1%

Step-by-step explanation:

S.P of each radio=$ 2288

Total S.P=2\times 2288=$4576

Gain=10%

Lose=10%

C.P=\frac{S.P\times 100}{100+gain(in\;percent)}

C.P=\frac{S.P\times 100}{100-loss(in\;percent)}

By using the formula

C.P of one radio=\frac{2288\times 100}{110}=$2080

C.P of another radio=\frac{2288\times 100}{100-10}=$2542.2

Total C.P of two radios=2080+2542.2=$4622.2

Total C.P >Total S.P

Loss=S.P-C.P

Loss=4622.2-4576=$46.2

Loss%=\frac{Loss}{C.P}\times 100

Loss %=\frac{46.2}{4622.2}\times 100=1%

Hence, his loss 1%

PLEASE HELP ME!! Kevin earns a base salary of $350.00 every week with an additional 12%
Mrrafil [7]
<h3>Answer:  944 dollars for the week</h3>

============================================================

Explanation:

He sold $4950 worth of items. Take 12% of this amount to get

12% of 4950 = 0.12*4950 = 594

So he earns $594 in commission on top of the $350 base salary paid every week. In total, he earns 594+350 = 944 dollars for that week

This isn't the per week pay because he would need to sell exactly $4950 worth of goods each week to keep this same weekly pay.
