The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which

way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General. Vonnegut uses satire in this excerpt by describing a society that has taken the idea of equality too far. depicting a dystopian setting where people live and think freely. portraying an ideal society where everyone is equal in every way. suggesting that the government take a more active role in society.

A) Vonnegut uses satire in this excerpt by describing a society that has taken the idea of equality too far

By referencing the idea that everyone is equally intelligent, or perhaps unintelligent, thanks to the Handicapper general, who apparently hobbles people who were born with certain gifts. This obviously isn't good, and suggests that the idea of equality is being taken to the extreme in 2081.

He went on to say that these private sectors have the rights to offer these regulations on their different platforms and make exclusions to certain speech of their members.

Parties are often preceded by fun questions, like what to give? Who to bring (if you have a plus one, that is)? When to arrive? And, crucially, what to wear? Most of us don’t just happen to have a floor-length silk gown or a tailcoat hanging around in our closet, waiting for the day our Met Gala invite finally arrives. But would that even be the right kind of thing to wear to such an event? We’ve got answers, and options, for every possible occasion on your social calendar.
