Freedom of speech is one of the most important components in democracy. Democracy is a type of government in which the leaders are elected by the people and for the welfare of the people. If anyone has objection to a certain protocol, one can raise their voice against it and present their views. But lately, freedom of speech is being used for spreading hatred across mass population by politicians, Trump our president for instance. He intentionally made racist comments about Indian people, Islamic people, Africans and many other races which is absolutely wrong but even the common man can raise his voice against such remarks because of freedom to speech. Even I'm using my freedom to speech to speak up against Donald Trump who loves making racist remarks on other races which he thinks make him popular and superior than others but he is wrong, we live in a democratic state where every individual holds the freedom to speech and expression and he should be well aware that if he continues with his act of racism then most probably he will not be elected as the President of United States of America because WE WILL RAISE OUR VOICE. And as you can see I couldn't have written this essay if there was no freedom to speech in our democracy so now you know why freedom to speech is extremely important in a democracy.
