A person with a high tolerance must need more of the drug to feel a certain effect, or high, from the drug. This also may make the person feel invincible to overdose if he can handle higher quantities of the drug than most other people. This can cause the person to take more of the drug because he believes that he will not be negatively affected by it. Eventually, the person may reach the point where his body can no longer accept the drug, and this will ultimately lead to overdose.
