In October, in that same year, the Women's March took place in Versailles, being one of the most significant acts of the French Revolution. The women were protesting over the high prices and scarcity of food.

In 1793, after being arrested in the previous year, King Louis was executed by guillotine at the Place de la Révolution.

A few months later, his wife, Marie Antoinette was executed.

Why is the South’s reasoning for secession flawed according to President Lincoln?
yaroslaw [1]

Abraham Lincoln This Harper's Weekly illustration features members of the South Carolina delegation who resigned their seats on Christmas Eve 1860.

Explanation:

Secession, as it applies to the outbreak of the American Civil War, comprises the series of events that began on December 20, 1860, and extended through June 8 of the next year when eleven states in the Lower and Upper South severed their ties with the Union.
