Answer:

The amount uphold from his last pay check was $867.75.

Step-by-step explanation:

A high school student working part time as a shelf stocker has a gross income of $6675 last year.

The federal tax rate was 10% so amount becomes: 0.10\times6675=667.5 dollars

The state tax rate was 3% so amount becomes: 0.03\times6675=200.25 dollars

Hence, total amount withheld was = 667.5+200.25=867.75 dollars

Solve the equation x + 0.7 = 1 - 0.2x in two different ways.Then check your answer.Show your work!
expeople1 [14]
Simplifying
x + 0.7 = 1 + -0.2x

Reorder the terms:
0.7 + x = 1 + -0.2x

Solving
0.7 + x = 1 + -0.2x

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '0.2x' to each side of the equation.
0.7 + x + 0.2x = 1 + -0.2x + 0.2x

Combine like terms: x + 0.2x = 1.2x
0.7 + 1.2x = 1 + -0.2x + 0.2x

Combine like terms: -0.2x + 0.2x = 0.0
0.7 + 1.2x = 1 + 0.0
0.7 + 1.2x = 1

Add '-0.7' to each side of the equation.
0.7 + -0.7 + 1.2x = 1 + -0.7

Combine like terms: 0.7 + -0.7 = 0.0
0.0 + 1.2x = 1 + -0.7
1.2x = 1 + -0.7

Combine like terms: 1 + -0.7 = 0.3
1.2x = 0.3

Divide each side by '1.2'.
x = 0.25

Simplifying
x = 0.25

I only know 1 way.

Need an equation that makes a parabola from soccer ball over soccer dummy and into the garbage can
dezoksy [38]

Answer:

The position of David Beckham is at (2,0) and the position of the garbage can is (38,0). Note that these two points would be the roots of the parabola we are going to draw.

Now since we have the roots, we can construct the equation of the parabola as

-a(x-2)(x-38)

where a is a constant.

We choose a = 0.05 and get

-0.05(x-2)(x-38)

Someone please help me it's worth 35 points
Zigmanuir [339]
Question 1)
I assume it asks about the circumference (of only the circle arc)
C=r*2*pi
r=2
-> C=4pi

1 Quarter only of the circle: C/4=pi=3.1

if it's the perimeter of the shape then you need to add the two 2in sides

C=3.1+2*2=7.1

2)
C=r*2*pi, but not a full circle, only semi-> divide by 2-> C=r*pi
r=30
C=30pi=94.2

3)
the radius of the semicircle is 6/2=3mm
semicircle C=r*pi=3pi

add the rectangle perimeter
3pi+2*3+6=12+3pi=21.4

4)
C=2r*pi
insert 2r=d=12
C=12pi=37.7

5)
C=2r*pi
r=10
C=20*pi~62.8
