This answer is true. In the first years of the Olympics, women could not compete in the games. This all changed in Paris, 1990, when women were allowed to participate in many competitions. Charlotte Cooper was the first woman to win an Olympic gold metal. She won her metal by winning the women's single tennis tournament. Hope that helps! :)
