Before a hurricane strikes, you should know the evacuation route in case your house is damaged or you don't have a safe place inside the house to stay in.
In case you have a basement or lowest floor in the building, make sure it doesn't easily flood, otherwise you will get drowned.
If you are outside the house, you should move slowly to highest land, avoiding walking or swing in flooded areas.
