The Persian war began in 499 BCE when the Greeks in the Persian controlled territory tried to attack in the Ionian Revolt. Athens, and the Greek cities sent aid but were faced defeat. In the end of the war led to the rise of the Athens as the leader.

The Greeks won the Persian war but lost 192 men to the Persians. The Persian war helped shaped the Greek ideology and encouraged the growth of the empire economically, culturally, and politically.
