Assist the patient to a lying position to prevent a fall, call 911 if patient remains unresponsive or transport the patient to the nearest ER if alert where oxygen and further testing for causes can occur. Medical attention does need to be provided even if consciousness quickly returns so a source can be identified and appropriate treatment can be provided. <span />
