An example of extreme pessimism would be someone who thinks the worst of things. They believe that no good would happen and being positive is not something they're good at.

An example of extreme optimism would be someone who sees the good in everything and everyone and is very positive, generally speaking they believe everything happens for a reason and they stick with it and go with the flow.
