Galileo was perhaps best known for ______.
ss7ja [257]

The correct option is D

Galileo Galilei (Pisa, Tuscany, February 15, 1564-Arcetri, Tuscany, January 8, 1642) was an Italian astronomer, philosopher, engineer, mathematician and physicist, closely related to the scientific revolution. Eminent man of the Renaissance, showed interest in almost all sciences and arts (music, literature, painting). His achievements include the improvement of the telescope, a wide variety of astronomical observations, the first law of movement and a decisive support for the «Copernicus Revolution». He has been considered the "father of modern astronomy", the "father of modern physics" and the "father of science".

In May of 1609, Galileo receives from Paris a letter from the Frenchman Jacques Badovere, one of his former students, who confirms an insistent rumor: the existence of a telescope that allows to see distant objects. Built in Holland by the lens manufacturer Hans Lippershey, this telescope would have already allowed to see stars invisible to the naked eye. With this unique description, Galileo, who no longer gives courses to Cosme II de Médicis, builds his first telescope. Unlike the Dutch telescope, it does not deform the objects and increases them 6 times, that is, twice as much as its opponent. It is also the only one of the time that manages to obtain a right image thanks to the use of a diverging lens in the eyepiece. This invention marks a turning point in the life of Galileo.

What kind of effect could an all-American AEF have on its enemies?
Kamila [148]
An all-American Expeditionary Force which was organized in WWI was perhaps considered as less challenging to fight than say a British force at least when they initially went into battle until they gained experience as they did not appear to have as much fighting experience as say the British or French who I believe entered the war earlier.

Compare and contrast the crisis in state authority that precipitated the french revolution in 1789 and the russian revolution in
Ganezh [65]

How you know revolutions are usually caused by a sharp social crisis, but they can never solve it. The new revolutionary power soon discovers its inability to govern society. All old problems remain and new ones are added to them. The new elite anti-crisis measures in the context of the public activity, as a rule, only deepen it and translate into a new quality-a deep systemic crisis in which the first place is not a question of how to live a society, and the problem can it Now live at all. The previous crisis that caused the revolution seems now trifle, compared to its consequences. Thus, In France, the financial crisis in 1789 has outgrown as a result of measures that change each other, revolutionary governments in the financial and economic catastrophe of the 1790-ss. Thus, the withdrawal of Russia from the First World War in six months before its end led to a civil war, the loss of population in which was almost 10 times more than in the previous conflict.
