Another function of the State Governors is to serve as Supreme Constitutional Commander of the National Guard corresponding to their state. Among the responsibilities assumed by the Governor in this labour is to deploy agents of this agency to address local emergencies and provide assistance to communities that are affected by natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, avalanches), which may be presented as well the deployment of soldiers of the National Guard to serve as support to countries allied to the United States abroad.
