The sociological significance of categorizing groups into dominant and minority groups is that the fact of recognizing the existence of majority racial groups in our country also implies recognizing the power that they have at the political, economic and social level, so the greater the number of people of said racial group, the greater their participation in politics and the national economy. And if we add certain socioeconomic characteristics, we can be in the presence of majority groups that control practically all of national politics, such as the case of whites in the United States, where 45 of the 46 presidents of the nation have been of that race.
