Answer: A) conflict.

The poem Lochinvar describes a brave, strong knight who is in love with a woman named Ellen. Ellen is about to be married to another man in the castle of Netherby, and Lochinvar wants to attend. He tells everyone that he wants to be there because he wants to celebrate with the woman, and say goodbye to her. However, the real reason is that he wants to run away with her. His plot works, and the lovers escape and are never seen again.

lana [24]

Answer: fluorescent

Explanation:

Emitting visible light as a result of the excitation of phosphors by ultraviolet photons produced by the passage of an electrical current through an inert gas infused with mercury” is the definition of florescent.

Florescent makes visible light through fluorescence. Fluorescence simply deals with how light is emitted through a substance which has absorbed light.

Excerpt from "The Bells"
Alex Ar [27]
The answer is B. "Frightened."

You can draw the conclusion that the author is trying to communicate a frightened tone by the diction of the stanza. The following line of the text states: "In the silence of the night, How we shiver with affright..." This is a very telling detail that supports the idea that the author's tone was meant to be frightening.
