She had serious sickness/illness that couldn't be helped. It created a lack of communication with others since she was unable to speak, or hear anything. Helen Keller was very stubborn towards her teacher as a child which made it difficult to teach her sign language and how to read Braille.

Read the passage from “Edgar Allan Poe.”

Answer:

To Emphasize the central idea that Poe's difficult life influenced his writing.

Explanation:

I say this because of the details. They included the details of his "hard life" for a reason. What is included into this story only has one explanation when it comes to the answer choices.

Ex. Why would they include that he had gambling problems and so on and so forth is the point of this was to persuade reader to feel sorry for him. Some readers could feel as if he deserved to go into debt because of his problem.

When you analyze each choice with the story the logical answer is what I have put.

I have described myself as always having been imbued with a fervent longing to penetrate the secrets of nature.
Tpy6a [65]
I have described myself as always having been imbued with a fervent longing to penetrate the secrets of nature.

In this line, the author is exploring man versus nature. The word or phrase from this passage that best demonstrated the conflict between man and nature is perhaps ‘penetrate’ or specifically ‘penetrate the secrets of nature’.

‘Penetrate’ means to succeed in forcing a way into or through. This signifies that the persona in this passage wants to understand the mysteries that surround nature.
