Answer:

When Polyphemus returns, Odysseus gets him drunk on wine that he brought along from the ship. Polyphemus collapses with intoxication, and Odysseus and a select group of his men drive the red-hot staff into his eye. Polyphemus wakes with a shriek. When morning comes, Odysseus and his men escape from the cave, unseen by the blind Polyphemus, by clinging to the bellies of the monster’s sheep as they go out to graze.

What word best describes the overall mood in house taken over
uysha [10]

Answer:

"Creepy" is a word that best defines the general mood in "House Taken Over".

Explanation:

"House Taken Over" tells the story of two single brothers who live in the same house and who have a peaceful life, without leaving home and without having much contact with other people. One day, or hearing a strange noise, the brother says to brother "They took that side of the house". At no time does the narrator say who "they" are, but the brother and the brother abandon the "they" side of the house with everything they have there. This creates a very scary and creepy atmosphere, because "they" continue to invade parts of the house, until the two brothers lock the doors and run out of the house to avoid meeting the invaders.

Which line from the text is the best example of the use of imagery by the author?
marin [14]

Answer:

There came a rumbling noise out of its depths, louder and louder, and nearer and nearer, sounding like the tramp of horses' hoofs and the rattling of wheels.

Explanation:

Everything else is not actually imagery. Choice 2 is the second possible choice, but isn't that great either.
