The revolution for independence from Spain was started by a priest name Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. He is known for being the father of the Mexican Independence. Miguel was a catholic priest that was the one that released the Mexican War of Independence. This revolution goal was to end the Spanish rule in Mexico, racial equality, and redistribution of land. If it wasn't for his leadership and him standing up for everyone, Mexico would probably be a lot different.
