Based on what you know about the other words in this sentence, can you infer the meaning of the underlined word? Quakers have a
sineoko [7]

Answer:

This question is about the word "egalitarianism". The meaning is:

d. a belief in equal rights for all people.

Explanation:

Egalitarianism is the belief in human equality, that is, that all human beings are equal and should have the same rights as well as opportunities. However, even if we did not know its definition, it was possible to infer it from the context in the passage. As soon as the word is used, we are given extra information by the speaker - that the Quakers included equality of the sexes in their spiritual egalitarianism. We are also told, from there on, that women and men had equal authority. Therefore, we can easily associate egalitarianism with equality.
