Francis Cabot Lowell was iconic in American history. He brought the use of a textile mill which was instrumental in bringing about the American Industrial Revolution. By moving from hand labor to machinery and automation, this caused American factories to produce more products than any other country in the world. This in turn, made America a much sought after geopolitical partner, as they were able to export more volume and increase revenue for everyone and Great Britain could not keep up with the demand.

To what extent did nuclear weapon make the conflict between the Soviet Union and United States a cold war?
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

Contest

Explanation:

Ever since the first nuke was dropped on Hiroshima, Stalin felt jealous. Thus a contest went on to see who'd put nukes closer to each others country, who could build the most, and who could build the most powerful. The Cuban Missile Crisis showed how close we were to world destruction.

Explain the events that led to France giving up its territory west of the Mississippi River.
sattari [20]

Answer:

France claimed the Mississippi River and all the lands drained by it. However, after land disputes led to the French and Indian War, France was worried that it was going to lose its hold on its land to the British. During the war, France hoped that allying with the Spanish would provide an advantage in the war. The two countries signed the Treaty of Fountainebleau in 1762. Spain agreed to fight with France, and the French gave up all the land they possessed west of the Mississippi River.
