Answer:

Mining in Kakadu National park would eventually lead to environment devastation, such as loss of endangered species, water and soil polution and that is also a threat for local people.

Explanation:

Kakadu National Park is located in northern Australia, and due to its biological diversity it is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, this area in very rich in uranium deposits, and this metal is important in nuclear and military industry.

Mining in national park is justifiable from strictly economical perspective, beacuse Australian government sells uranium in worl market. On the other side, mining affects endangered species, it ruins the ecosystem, water and soil. Local natives are also threatened by mining, beacuse potential poluttion of water and soil affects their living places.

Possible outcome of excesive mining would be total devastation of environment, displacement of local people and removing of national park from UNESCO List.

Banded iron formations are composed of alternating light and dark bands of which type of rock?
VashaNatasha [74]

Banded iron formations are composed of alternating light and dark bands of chert.

What is chert?

 • Banded iron formations are made up of alternating light and dark chert bands.
 • Chert is a sedimentary rock that forms in a variety of ways and is almost entirely composed of silica (SiO 2).
 • When the siliceous skeletons of marine plankton are dissolved during diagenesis, silica precipitates from the resulting solution, biochemical chert is formed.
 • Chert layers, which occur as irregular beds or rounded nodules within limestone formations, are common in eastern Kansas.
 • Because it is harder than limestone, chert is more resistant to erosion.
 • The Flint Hills' chert-topped hills are the result of the landscape's uneven erosion.

Therefore, banded iron formations are composed of alternating light and dark bands of chert.
