The acronym WASP stands for Women Airforce Service Pilots .

<u>WASP was constituted by civilians, who were formely employed in the civil service.</u> They became trained pilots who tested aircrafts and ferry aircrafts and subsequently they also trained new pilots.

The aim of this organization was women colaboration so that men were liberated from those tasks in order to fight in the war.

Reconstruction era repeatedly advocated the rights and freedom of Stateswomen. It was during the WWII women were allowed to participate in the war-related activities. The women of the 6888 Central Postal Directory regiment were involved in distributing mail in warehouses of  England and France. These army corps was named WAC's who were not only involved in letters distribution but also served overseas.  

Apart letter circulation, the women were also involved in the military aircraft. During 1944 United States faced a severe shortage of male pilots and so to fulfill the shortage of pilot WASP was established as the training center for women aircraft. An about 1,100 women were trained to fly combat planes including “B-26” and “B-29”.They were given the charge, to test the new planes and then transport it to the military base. WASP expected to be part of the armed service pilots but instead of it, the program was annulled after two years of its initiation.
