First, using elimination method for eq. 1 and 2 to eliminate one of the variables.

2x - y + 3z = 8

-2x + 3y - 2z = 10

------------------------------

2y + z = 18

z = 18 - 2y

Now eq. 1 and 3, but multiple eq.1 with 2.

2x + 4y - 2z = 8

-2x + 3y - 2z = 10

----------------------------

7y - 4z = 18

Now you have two new equations 7y -4z = 18 and z = 18 - 2y. Solve for y and z, using substitute method.

7y - 4z = 18

7y - 4(18 - 2y) = 18

7y - 72 + 8y = 18

15y = 18+72

y = 90/15

y = 6

Find z using one of the two new equations.

z = 18 - 2y

z = 18 - 2(6)

z = 18 - 12

z = 6

Now you got y and z, find x using any one of the main three equations.

x + 2y - z = 4

X + 2(6) - 6 = 4

x + 12 - 6 = 4

x = 4 - 6

x = -2

Solutions:

x = -2

y = 6

z = 6

Find the 5th term of the sequence defined by the give rule. f(n) = n²+ 5. A step by step explanation with answer would be greatl
skad [1K]

Answer:

The 5th term is 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the formula

f(n) = n² + 5

where n is the number of terms

So from the question we were told to find the 5th term that's

n = 5

In order to find the 5th term substitute the value of n that's 5 into the rule

We have

f(5) = 5² + 5

= 25 + 5

= 30

f(5) = 30

So the 5th term of the sequence in the given rule is 30

Hope this helps you

Is the equation cosine theta - sine theta =1 an identity? Explain
Lynna [10]
Answer: No, because an identity is an equation that is always true and cos(theta) - sin(theta) does not always equal 1.

Hope this helped! :)

What expressions represent the surface area of a cube with an edge length of 7 units
Aneli [31]

Surface area of a cube: 6 ( edge lenght )^2

A cube has 6 square faces, so we have to multiply the area of each face by 6.

Replacing:

SA = 6 (7)^2 = 6 (49) =294 squared units

Each letter of the word "mathematics" is written on a separate piece of paper and put into a bag. you are asked to pick a random
yarga [219]
M,t,h,c,s are all consonants. "Mathematics" has 11 letters and 7 of them are consonants and the other 4 are vowels. 100%/11 = 9.091. 9.091 x 4 = 36.36. So, there is a 36.36 % (4/11) chance that you will pick a vowel and a 63.64 % (7/11) chance that you will pick a consonant.

I hope that helps!!!
