One main reason for studying civilization is TO REVEAL THE CONTRIBUTION OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATION.
Everything has an origin and humans of nowadays are product of men of yesterday. Men study history in order to understand our origin and how far we have progress through time. Comparing the knowledge of present societies with the ancient ones help us to become aware of how the ancient civilization has contributed to today's developments.
