Niloofar, or the water lily, has been a part of Persian pottery designs used. It symbolizes not only the female body, or identity, more common from the naming of girls as Nilofar, Nilufar etc. But it also represents life in general, used in major arts of the pottery as its main motifs to give a representation of the various themes it contains. This image of the flower presents a common motif for various themes, acting as a generalized form of representation.
