Musicians sit in the orchestra based on their instrument with the quieter instruments in the front and the louder ones in the back. Musicians are grouped by what instrument they play to keep the sound together and help the musicians hear their neibors that play the same part. In the front of the orchestra sits the stringed instruments like the violins, cellos, and violas. Behind them are the lower strings, the basses as their lower notes can carry farther. Behind them are the woodwinds, including flutes, whose high pitched notes carry over the strings. In the far back is the brass, like trumpets, that use mental instruments and the percussion that uses mallets that allows their sound to carry our across the whole orchestra.
