To check an equation you take the answer you got and pull it back into the equation for what you were solving for.

You check by the process called substitution.

 (Well, not that that's the only process xD)

Okay, for example:

3x +  9 = 27
      -9      -9
-------------------------
3x = 18
/3      /3

x = 6.

To check if this equation is true, I gotta substitute.

3(6) + 9 = 27
18 + 9 = 27
27 = 27.

Welp that checks! If they equal to one another, then the answer is correct.

Name Guided Practice DO Do You Understand? 1. If the orchard has 200 seedlings and 12 are planted in each row, how many rows wil
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

16 rows, 8 seedlings left.

Step-by-step explanation:

Divide 200 by 12, since 200 seedlings are going to be split in 12 groups in order to fill the rows.

200 ÷ 12 = 16 with a remainder of 8.

The remainder is basically what is left.

Since 12 seedlings are planted in each row, 8 seedlings is not enough to completely fill the row. So, the answer is 16 rows with 8 seedlings left.

Hope this helped !

-) Which is a valid velocity reading for an object? O 45 m/s O 45 m/s north 23 O O m/s south O 0 m/s ok Save and Exit Next Mark
joja [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

0 can't have a direction. It does not move. It has no speed component. Therefore 0 m/s south is not the answer.

45 m/s has no direction stated. It is just a speed, not a velocity.

45 m/s north is a velocity. It has both speed and direction.

What is the area of the rhombus?
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:  24 square units

Explanation: The diagonals are 4+4 = 8 and 3+3 = 6 units long. Multiply the diagonals to get 8*6 = 48. Then divide this in half to get 48/2 = 24.

An alternative is to find the area of one smallest triangle, and then multiply that by 4 to get the total area of the rhombus. You should find the area of one smallest triangle to be 0.5*base*height = 0.5*4*3 = 6, which quadruples to 24.
