Concept of Activation Energy

In the abdomen, the catalyst pepsin has the role to cut proteins into shorter units-polypeptides. Pepsin is integrated and discharged in an idle mode pepsinogen. Activation strength is the least value of power that is needed to stimulate a catalyst. It is obtained in the acidic means it has pH ranges from 1 to 3. So, the activation of pepsin which means conversion of pepsinogen to pepsin is possible in the stomach lining which produces hydrochloric acid (HCl) which causes the stomach contents to have a low pH. Antacids offset the acid formed through the stomach and it affects the digestive system.

In the stomach, the enzyme pepsin has the function to break proteins into smaller units-polypeptides. Pepsin is synthesized and secreted in an inactive form- pepsinogen. Activation energy (the minimum amount of energy that is required to activate an enzyme) is achieved in the acidic medium (pH from 1 to 3). So, the activation of pepsin (conversion of pepsinogen to pepsin) is possible thanks to the cells in the stomach lining which produce hydrochloric acid (HCl), causing the stomach contents to have a low pH.

Antacids neutralize the acid made by the stomach, affecting the digestion.

what is the difference between the closed conformation and open conformation of chromatin packing? biology
Oduvanchick [21]

The shape of chromatin, which can be either open (euchromatin) or compact (heterochromatin), is dynamically regulated during the phases of the cell cycle is the two types of conformations.

 • The main distinction between conformation and configuration is that whereas the configurations of the same molecule do not easily interconvert, their conformations do.
 • With a predefined location in the nucleus and a certain form, such as metacentric, submetacentric, acrocentric, or telocentric, chromosomes are primarily heterochromatic in this stage.
 • All DNA-mediated processes, including gene regulation, can be significantly impacted by the degree of nucleosomal packaging.
 • While heterochromatin (tight or closed chromatin) is more compact and resistant to factors that need to access the DNA template, euchromatin (loose or open chromatin) structure is permissible for transcription.

A nurse is teaching a client about self-management techniques for smoking cessation. Which statement made by the client indicate
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

b. "I should visit all the places where I started smoking."

Explanation:

Smoking cessation is a process to discontinue smoking in a person who regularly smokes. Smoking cessation process contains nicotine replacement therapy because nicotine makes the people dependent on tobacco.

As the nurse is teaching the client about the self-management technique for smoking cessation so "I should visit all the places where I started smoking" is the statement from client which indicated that further teaching should be given to the client because if the client goes to those place than he could start smoking again because of tobacco craving.
