Joseph Franz Haydn was a musical composer during an era which ranged between 1730 - 1820. This era was called the classical period.

He was from Austria and was born in the the year 1732. Joseph Haydn was also called the Father of String Quartet.

Joseph Haydn between the year 1796 - 1797 composed the Six String Quartets, Op 76.

String Quartet , Op 76, No 3 was composed from an Hymn he wrote for Emperor Francis , hence the nickname ' Emperor'. The Quartet has 4 movements and the melody from the Quartet has been found to be used in Germany's National Anthem.
