The Hittites were a culture that inhabited Anatolia in Asia Minor, in what today is Turkey, around 1700 BCE. They developed a writing system known that was a cuneiform script that they adapted from a previous version of Akkadian that had been the system in the North part of Syria. The Hittites used clay tablets to write about their history, culture, and stories.
