In “The Bet” by Anton P.Chekov the lawyer was actually facing a conflict with his own mind in order to uphold his side of the bet. It was actually a very simple looking bet in the beginning between the lawyer and the banker. The banker felt that death sentence was better than prison sentence for a long time but the lawyer was of the opposite opinion. The bet was for the lawyer to remain in solitary confinement for a period of 15 years and if he was successful then the banker would pay the lawyer 2 million rubles.

Economic concern and stability

Explanation:

The economic problem, which is sometimes considered the basic or core economic problem, argues that the available resources of an economy are inadequate to satisfy all human needs and desires. Economics involves learning how money can be distributed under inadequate circumstances.

The avoidance of undue volatility of the macro economy ensures economic stability. The economy would be seen as economically stable with fairly constant production growth and low and stable inflation.
