With the internet you can locate various sources such as books, magazines, newspapers, etc to help with your research. You should avoid any questionable places such as message boards or blogs as they tend to be biased; however if the site refers to a reputable source, then go for that direct source instead. The same can be said about articles on Wikipedia. Avoid citing any Wiki page directly, but rather use any of the sources mentioned in the article.
