Answer:

Understanding how to use a country setting will set the tone of a great literature piece. This can be compared to writing a descriptive piece. Examples of novels that make use of the setting to do justice to the characters in play are <em>Avonlea in "Anne of Green Gables" </em>and <em>18th Century Scotland in "Outlander"</em> to mention a few. For your essay, think of a setting from a novel you really enjoyed reading in which the setting plays a pivotal backdrop to the story.

Once choosing the setting, analyze how the setting functions in the novel as a whole. Highlight in your analysis the use of a few guidelines to a good setting:

-Real place setting then research is key to accurate in describing the setting,

-Be inspired to use the setting to create an atmosphere

-A good setting entices the reader to read more by playing on one's senses

-If the novel has conflict or suspense elements to the story-line, the setting can contribute to this feature of the novel

-Important characters and the roles they play can be greatly supported by the setting to set the character up for success

-Name things that are significant in the setting that would add great value

-A great setting impacts the success of the novel when it is as descriptive and detailed as the characters in the novel.

<em>In analyzing the setting you choose, your essay must highlight the importance firstly, the functions of the setting in the novel. Use the guidelines (above) to give a detailed analysis of the setting you choose.</em>
