There were multiple tribes and the Zulus brought new styles of warfare to South Africa and conquered many lands. Dutch settlers were also there, the Netherlands was at war with France and lost so the Netherlands no longer existed so they called themselves boers. Before them there was the Portuguese but they were kicked out after the age of exploration. They were many badlands as well isn’t he territory. The British finally arrived and underestimated the zulús and were promptly losing but they eventually won and established a South African puppet state.
