Answer: rivers

The four river valley civilizations were the Tigris & Euphrates Valleys, the Nile River Valley, the Indus River Valley, and the Yellow River Valley. Civilizations developed around rivers because their waters provided places to hunt and fish. Also, as the rivers flooded, the lands around them became fertile.

1. why do you think the government wanted western lands to be settled?
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

I got you

Explanation:

1. The United States government wanted western lands to be explored and discovered because of a social and economic standpoint. You'll later see these  standpoints as Manifest Destiny and the primary reason was to gain natural resources for America to expand its wealth.

2. The UNited States government "thought" the land was unappropriated , but it actually held hundreds of Indian tribes, Comanches and Apaches that had been there for thousands of years. They would have had a different point of view because it is there ancestral land.

3. The Homestead Act in the large part failed because of the harsh climate, their lack of experience, or the inability to obtain prime farming lands.

How did the crusades impact the Europeans?
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer: The first Crusade was successful for European leaders they were able to have some cities such as Jerusalem, Acre, Bethlehem, and Antioch. But after that things go wrong.

The political perspective was a failure.

Although they did not fully achieve their religious goal, the Crusades promoted major changes across Europe, such as the reopening of the Mediterranean to European shipping and trade. This made it possible to intensify trade between the West and the East, largely interrupted by Muslim expansion.

The paying of protection money to pirates in
dangina [55]

Typically, a Barbary peace treaty required a nation to pay "tribute" to the pirate ruler, who would then call off attacks on the nation's ships. Tribute usually took the form of a large payment of money plus annual payments. The annual payments might be cash, military supplies, or expensive presents for the ruler.
