Answer:

The correct answer is option'A':  Alice wins if a total of 5 is rolled. Finn wins if a total of 9 is rolled.

Explanation:

Since the sample outcomes of both the experiments are the same we have

1) Alice will win if the total of 5 is rolled thus the following cases are valid:

i) Alice gets 1 Finn gets 4.

ii)Alice gets 4 Finn gets 1.

iii)Alice gets 2 Finn gets 3.

iv)Alice gets 3 Finn gets 2.

Thus the cases in favor of Alice are 4.

2) Finn will win if the total of 9 is rolled thus the following cases are valid:

i) Alice gets 3 Finn gets 6.

ii)Alice gets 6 Finn gets 3.

iii)Alice gets 4 Finn gets 5.

iv)Alice gets 5 Finn gets 4.

Thus the cases in favor of Finn are 4.

Thus both have equal opportunities to succeed.

The transition from preoperations to concrete operations is _____, and typically occurs between the ages of _____. Select one:
shtirl [24]

Answer:

The transition from preoperations to concrete operations is gradual, and typically occurs between the ages of 5 and 7.

Explanation:

According to Piaget's theory, the preoperational stage (in which children are considered too young to perform mental operations) starts around the age of 5 and extends up to about between the age of 6 and 7.

Throughout this period, children start developing cognitive skills by experiencing the world through actions, learning and identifying resources available to represent them with words, logical thinking and reasoning, developing intuitive reasoning and adapting themselves to the world and the environment.

I hope it helps!

What is the difference between a selective college and an open college? What accomplishments are needed to be admitted to each?
zepelin [54]

An open college is usually open admissions. That means that so long as you have a HS diploma or GED, you will get in. They let in everyone who applies, basically.

A selective college gets so many applicants that they have to screen out those who don't meet certain standards, so for a selective college, you'd need to be in a certain GPA level and/or have an SAT or ACT score that falls into a certain range to get in. They admit only a certain percentage of those who apply.
