How does Creon's pride pit him against Antigone?

English

Answer:

That he bends to no one, not even the gods, is the way in which Creon's pride pits him against Antigone in "Antigone" by Sophocles (495 B.C.E. - 405 B.C.E.).

Specifically, the term pride describes a sense of one's own worth that may be justified in terms of achievements but inflated in terms of one's role. The description fits Theban King Creon who considers himself the ultimate authority in Thebes. This puts on a collision course with his niece, Princess Antigone, who believes that divine will, family ties and Theban traditions always take precedence.

Answer:

"Hey Ash!" yelled Sebastian. Turning around, Ash smiled at Sebastian as he cleaned the floors. "When do you think you will be done?" asked Sebastian while eating his chips. Ash looked at Sebastian and his chips, "please don't make a mess" Ash pleaded to Sebastian. "Relax!" Sebastian exclaimed, still crunching on his chips. Ash sighed and continued cleaning while Sebastian sat down and read his school book. "I'll be done within a hour, Sebastian" Ask groaned. When Ash was finished, he nudged Sebastian and quietly spoke "let's go", before leaving the building.
