Enlightenment philosophers were generally opposed to the Catholic Church and organized religion in general. I believe that within that time period, men were the ones who earned the money and women were expected to do household duties. With all the historical events that had occurred, I believe that with that scenario, that should have been uncalled for. But yet again, there was and still is severe racial segregation amongst us.
