A Major is the subject that a student gets specialized knowledge in, during a degree level course in college.

Explanation:

A degree is a blanket term, while a major is a specific term that tells about the subject in which the student is studying

Your degree is what you will get upon graduation. You will actually have a paper diploma. There are a number of different types of degrees - associates degree (a 2-year degree), bachelors degree (4-year degree) and various postgraduate degrees like your masters degree or your Ph.D.

You will achieve your degree in your major field of study. For example, if you graduate from a university in which you majored in Psychology, you will have a bachelor's degree in Psychology. If you don't know what your major is, you're likely an "undeclared" major. That simply means you haven't decided what you want to major in, yet.

ehidna [41]

Hi, you've asked an incomplete question. However, I inferred you are referring to the passage found in the book "Collections Close Reader: Grade 8."

<u>Explanation:</u>

Remember, a <u>simile</u> is a literary device that compares two things that exactly aren't similar or alike as though they were, in other to give a good description.

For a simile about the narrator: one good example is when read;

<em>"</em><em><u>Chatter like a monkey</u></em><em> when I command adult attention."</em> Here the author uses the expression "Chatterlike a monkey" to depict the talkative nature of the narrator when given attention, just as how a monkey makes noise.

For a simile about the mother:  one good example is when read;

<em>"She rises </em><em><u>against the sun like a skyscraper,</u></em><em> and when I draw her in my notebook, she takes up the entire page." </em>The mother's bold and courageous nature is compared to the height of a<em><u> skyscraper.</u></em>

ANTONII [103]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

Look through the answer choices and eliminate the ones that don't make sense:

A. "Love alone is the answer to all problems"; the excerpt mentions nothing about love, so we can say that this is irrelevant and thus, wrong.

B. "Some hard situations must be faced alone"; this is very likely because the excerpt said that "Mowgli went down the hillside alone". In addition, this could be characterized as a "hard situation" because this is the first time Mowgli is going to face his species - humans. We can imagine that it will be hard on Mowgli to realize that these people are his "family".

C. "Beauty fades, but goodness lasts"; again, the excerpt doesn't talk about beauty or goodness. It does mention dawn beginning to break, but it doesn't elaborate on it or make us think that it might be talking about the fleeting beauty of the dawn. Eliminate C.

D. "Solutions to problems are found in nature"; similar to above, the excerpt doesn't discuss how nature can solve all problems. Actually, the main focus isn't on nature but on human society because Mowgli is headed toward the men.

Thus, B is the answer.

Hope this helps!
